I Never Connected With Nightwear — And That’s Where YELLOW BLOOM Began
I will be honest.
Before starting Yellow Bloom, I had never really connected with nightwear. I have never worn a nighty, and even today I do not wear one. But whenever I used to see someone wearing a nighty, there was always a certain discomfort I felt, something I could not clearly explain at that time.
It was not about judging anyone. It was more about a question that stayed in my mind.
Why does something that women wear for the longest hours of their day feel so ignored?
Over time, I started observing more closely. Whether it was nighties or even basic pyjama sets, most options in the regular market did not feel thoughtfully designed. They were made for utility, not for how a woman feels while wearing them.
I come from a background where design is taken seriously. I have spent years working on garments where every detail matters fabric, fall, fit, and finish. I have seen how the right clothing can quietly change confidence.
So it felt strange that homewear, which is worn the most, had almost no attention given to it.
The common belief seemed to be that if something is comfortable, that is enough. But I could not agree with that.
Comfort is important, but it is not the only thing. There is also a feeling attached to what you wear even when no one is watching.
This thought stayed with me for a long time.
And slowly, without any big announcement, YELLOW BLOOM started taking shape in my mind.
Not as a business plan, but as a correction.
A need to bring design, quality, and thought into a category that had been overlooked for years.
I did not want to create nightwear that is just comfortable. I wanted to create something that feels right to wear something you don’t want to change out of, even when you step outside.
Comfort was never the problem.
It was the lack of thought around it.
