Marketing Brings Customers. Trust Keeps Them.
Marketing Brings Customers. Trust Keeps Them.
A customer may forget the advertisement, but they never forget the experience after payment.
Recently, I ordered a water bottle for my son for the new academic year. I discovered the brand through repeated ads on social media. The marketing was effective, so I visited the website and placed an order.
Days passed, but there was no update, no tracking, and no communication.
I reached out on WhatsApp and received an instant reply, only to realise it was an AI bot. It could fetch my order details but could not answer simple questions.
I called customer care and was met with an automated response saying all executives were busy before the call disconnected.
Finally, I contacted them on Instagram, where they informed me that my order had not been processed because they were overbooked.
As a business owner, I understand delays. What I do not understand is continuing to spend heavily on advertisements while existing customers are left without clarity.
Customers can accept delays. They can accept mistakes. What they cannot accept is silence.
Today, many brands can automate responses and create demand, but customer trust is not built by ads or AI. It is built by honesty, updates, and keeping promises.
Launching a brand has become easy. Fulfilling a promise remains the real challenge.
