Sometimes I feel AI has become the Dhaniya (coriander leaves) of the business world.

In today’s world, AI has become like Dhaniya (coriander leaves). No matter what people are cooking, they put a little Dhaniya on top. Sometimes it makes the dish better, and sometimes it is just there because everybody else is doing it. AI is slowly becoming the same thing in the business world.
Today, every startup pitch has AI, every founder talks about AI, every incubation program wants to hear AI, and every second business suddenly becomes “AI-powered.” Even companies that were running perfectly fine for years now feel stressed if they cannot add AI somewhere in their presentation deck.
It honestly feels like businesses are no longer asking, “Will this solve a real problem?” The bigger question now is, “But where is the AI tadka?”
Of course, AI is powerful and useful. Nobody can deny that. It is helping people save time, work faster, and build amazing things. But at the same time, some people are using AI like extra garnish on food. A simple app suddenly becomes an AI platform. A basic chatbot becomes the future of humanity. Even a normal Excel sheet probably wants to introduce itself as an AI company now.
The funniest part is that people have started saying the word “AI” with the same confidence restaurants use while adding coriander leaves on top of every dish. Whether it matches or not, just add it. It looks modern.
Right now, many businesses are not building with AI. They are decorating with AI.
Maybe the real question is not whether a company is using AI. Maybe the real question should be whether the business is actually useful, or if AI is simply being sprinkled on top to make it sound more exciting.
Because in the end, too much Dhaniya (coriander leaves) can also change the real taste of the dish.
