The Market Does Not Care Whether You Are A Man Or A Woman
One question that is very commonly asked today is this: “What are the challenges of being a woman entrepreneur?”
Every time I hear this question, I think about it very deeply.
Because somewhere, without realizing it, we have started separating entrepreneurship itself into categories. We now say woman entrepreneur, mom entrepreneur, male entrepreneur, young entrepreneur, senior entrepreneur.
But business does not work according to identity.
The market does not give extra sales because the founder is a woman. Customers do not ignore poor quality because the founder is a man. Suppliers do not reduce fabric prices because somebody is balancing motherhood. Algorithms do not become kinder because somebody is emotionally strong.
Entrepreneurship treats everyone equally harshly.
Every founder worries about cash flow, delayed payments, marketing costs, low conversions, hiring mistakes, operations, competition, stress, uncertainty, and growth. These problems are not male problems or female problems. They are business problems.
Sometimes I feel that constantly introducing women separately in business may unknowingly weaken the very equality we are trying to build. Because true equality is not asking for a different lens. True equality is standing in the same market, under the same pressure, with the same accountability.
I deeply respect women who are building businesses while managing families, children, homes, and responsibilities because I know the amount of discipline it requires. But I also know many men carrying silent pressures of loans, responsibilities, survival, and expectations.
Pressure does not choose gender. Responsibility does not choose gender. Entrepreneurship does not choose gender.
An entrepreneur is simply a person who decides to take risk, create value, survive uncertainty, and continue even when nothing feels stable.
Maybe the day we stop adding prefixes before the word entrepreneur is the day we actually achieve the equality we keep talking about.
